Adam Lee lives and breathes sales. As our VP Sales, West and Business Development, Adam spends his days coaching our representatives and showcasing our products to potential customers. Motivated to make a lasting impact through his career, Adam says he’s never felt more at home than he does at Qoria.
Adam Lee understands the power of a good conversation. When he speaks, you can’t help but hang on to every word. A salesperson to the core, Adam’s confident, curious and cheerful nature serves him well as our VP Sales, West and Business Development.
He first discovered his natural affinity for customer service while working in restaurants through college. A decade later, he uses his savvy sales skills to head our Sales Development Representative team that turns leads into customers.
After graduating from his Business Degree, Adam knew he wanted a career where he could connect with people – and he quickly found his niche as a tech salesperson. But after working for an organisation as one of 15,000 employees, he began to crave a job with meaning and connection. That’s when he heard about us.
“Linewize’s Vice President of North America approached me and said ‘I’m working for a startup called Linewize – come join us.’ I took a look in the mirror and asked myself, ‘Do you want to be just another number, or do you want to roll up your sleeves and give it a go?’ I wake up every day knowing I made the right decision to work with Linewize.”
After almost three years with us, Adam has worked hard to perfect his craft. He says it takes creativity and a lot of passion to continuously improve and modernize his techniques – but his belief in our mission makes for an exciting challenge. And he carries his values of integrity and empathy into everything he does.
“Sales isn’t for everyone, but when you find something you love to do, it comes naturally. I get excited when I showcase our products to prospective customers, because I know what I’m demonstrating is really cool! I could be selling nuts and bolts, but I’m selling a product which truly impacts people’s lives.”
As a people person, Adam knows how impactful a conversation can be in the selling process. His Inside Sales Team is a crucial link in our ability to generate new opportunities and close a sale. A big part of his role includes coaching his team to be better salespeople.
“In sales, the biggest tool you have in your repertoire is storytelling. If I tell a prospective customer about a school district that achieved amazing security results, or how our product enabled teachers to help a struggling student – it makes the experience much more impactful. I tell my team to never underestimate the power of a genuine conversation.”
Adam works to his mantra of ‘there is a boot for every foot’. He takes pride in finding the right product for a customer's needs, especially if they’re complex. He says in the wake of COVID-19, his sales skills have certainly been put to the test. But he’s come to perfect his favourite part of his role: one-on-one online product demonstration sessions.
Working through a pandemic is something Adam says he will never forget.
“It was a revolution. The education system was flipped on its head overnight – but we had the technology that allowed school districts to keep their students safely connected. We had IT Directors tell us they wouldn’t have been able to do it if it weren’t for our products. I was already appreciative of my role, but the pandemic cemented it. We are doing fantastic things here.”
As Adam approaches his third year with us, he reflects on what he’s learnt since he first started on the frontline of our sales team.
“When I began, I was employee number four in the United States. Now we have more than forty employees. I’ve learnt that there is so much more to learn! Technology and sales is ever-changing, and you need to constantly evolve your processes and techniques to remain one step ahead of the rest.”
Adam says he knows our future is bright. He feels supported to keep growing his sales skills, while offering solutions for IT directors and teachers to create a difference in the K-12 space.
His advice to salespeople looking to make a difference is simple: never stop learning from your peers.
“It is possible to create a positive impact through sales. Every day is an opportunity to improve our craft and learn from each other. We need to keep young students safe, so if you’re looking to develop your skills and embrace modern sales technology while working with integrity and empathy – Linewize is the place for you.”
